Anyway, a key problem with the labour market is that... a lot of what you might call "alternative paths to labour-market entry" are in the hands of people who are desperate for labour because they are screaming arseholes.

Chris Pyne was pretty much the last member of the liberal party with the brains god gave a jellyfish, so if you *are* going to do bipartisanship he's basically the only choice.

I'm not saying he's nice, he's a turd. but he is *smarter* than a turd and all the other options are not.
What a brain-dead dumb, completely shite appointment. @tonyburkemp.bsky.social

the bit you have to laugh at is, repressive govts can't really commercialise advanced technology because commercialisation needs messages passing from bottom to top that repression is set up to block. So all this will fail anyway, as will anything else they try except resource extraction.
COMMERCE DEPT SAYS IT HAS AUTHORIZED EXPORT OF ADVANCED U.S. SEMICONDUCTORS TO G42 IN THE UAE AND TO HUMAIN IN SAUDI ARABIA

And it does fit! Single-track passing station in TT with goods siding and a street tramway. 2x16m car trains, plus space for a couple of scenery setpieces, all on a 780x270 billy bookshelf shelf.

Will need some 7.5⁰ and r1 15⁰ curves I think, and leave the tramway for phase two.

Windows does update.

Now opens Game Bar when webcam turns on.

Industrial paper cutter uses a webcam to detect registration dots.

Game Bar opens on every sheet feed.

I swear half of admin work in 2025 is slapping windows' fingers away from the controls. No! Bad OS. BAD! *gets the spray bottle*

So, if you tie a flag to a broomstick and then tie the pulling-up rope, the halyard, to the broomstick below the flag and then again at the bottom of the broomstick, you can hoist the flag higher than you could normally.

Occasionally useful knowledge.

Bah. It looked like so much more space when I was sketching it out. The secondhand track not having the short curves I want doesn't help.

[the general idea is freelance 70s japan heavily inspired by some mid-sized private railways, esp the hokuriku. In TTm, because why not make your life harder]

Pedophiles: "At long last, we have created Lolita from the classic novel It's Really Bad To Sexually Assault Lolita"
my new theory is that Jeffrey Epstein read Lolita, actually understood it, and killed himself.
did not have Harvard English professor Elisa New emailing Jeffrey Epstein about Lolita on my 2025 bingo card

The 1981 tour of NZ, with Errol Tobias btw, tore NZ apart and let the Bokke know they were hated. 1986, being shut out of tours and rebels being punished reinforced that. 1987, the first RWC, was when white SA had to ask itself: is keeping apartheid *really* worth never playing the All Blacks again?

If you want a woke conlang, at least pick one that doesn't regularly derive feminines from masculines (patro -> patrino, filo -> filino, etc.). I can send you a reference grammar and lexicon for something I've inflicted on an enby conlanger I know.

Legitimately if you know the distinction between pedophilia and ephebophilia and use it as a defense of literally anything you are most likely a sex offender and should be investigated as such.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

forever proud of Stephen Jay Gould for taking one look into the Epstein zone and saying "no fucking thanks". a credit to the profession
hasn't been enough reporting on his creepy science funding, tbh.
The Epstein stuff is always so amazing to me because it's like "yes he was a sex criminal but if you can get past that, he was also an avowed eugenicist"

A subtle one that's easy to miss, but the fact that Andreesen and Musk both use "alpha" as slang for "information advantage" is a clear tell that their mental world is finance, not technology. They try to talk otherwise but they are investors not inventors.
*maximum alpha at 1.25x speed* continuously lives on in my head, unfortunately.

Getting vindicated is just so completely enraging. I hate it, it means the only thing for me to learn was to yell at more people louder and sooner.

if you're going to disagree with someone, show some fucking respect and not be completely 157% arse-wrong about everything from the get-go.
