i created one which can perform an absolute value operation in just a handful of basic instructions that are available on just about every processor going back to the 6502
a related algorithm decays a signed integer towards zero

those are all multiplayer games where somebody can teach you
but in single player games they really want to focus on giving you "wins" early on to hook you on the dopamine hit, which also means creating lots of gates

one of the only things i miss from Windows is Sysinternals Process Explorer
the GUI and TUI tools available for Linux are generally hilariously incompetent
like Gnome's System Monitor failing to understand how to sort grouped processes by CPU usage and trying to see open files crashes it lol

the thing that scares me the most about youtube comments is that there is clearly an upper threshold upon which a person reaches they are compelled to mention their age - no matter how irrelevant it is to the comment

last year or so i happened to be nearby the construction site and had no idea what it was but i thought it looked terrible, i sat there trying to figure out how it would look when it was complete
