Also Those Who Hunt Elves, because it lets you talk about its whole tradition of sexually-charged comedy through a vehicle that's surprisingly low in offputting materiel.

Stellvia, or Tweeny Witches: there's not a lot of attention paid to works aimed at older children, and it's a space you can do a lot of interesting things in.

If sushi returns up to 1.5k a night and burgers do maybe 2.5, the rents will be set by what a successful burger shop will pay and sushi shops won't get looked at.

Nature of capitalism is, your costs are set by people who think they can succeed at the most profitable use of your input resources: business plans supplying the most profitable good are the only ones that look remunerative, which means it's rapidly oversupplied and ceases being profitable.

The 1981 tour of NZ, with Errol Tobias btw, tore NZ apart and let the Bokke know they were hated. 1986, being shut out of tours and rebels being punished reinforced that. 1987, the first RWC, was when white SA had to ask itself: is keeping apartheid *really* worth never playing the All Blacks again?

If you want a woke conlang, at least pick one that doesn't regularly derive feminines from masculines (patro -> patrino, filo -> filino, etc.). I can send you a reference grammar and lexicon for something I've inflicted on an enby conlanger I know.

I would need testimony from the grand jury members before I would believe that the grand jury was actually reconvened, and -- not an expert on the technicalities here, i'd want some probing cross-examination on whether the requisite formalities were actually complied with.

Linking arts and sports ministries makes perfect sense to me, but I'm australian [the commonalities that are seen as salient is a matter of cultural perception: "correct" portfolio allocation differs between countries]

This is why my proposal is to eliminate parking spaces by transferring the portion of the road reserve they occupy to adjoining landowners at near-nominal cost. Which land they can then use to provide free parking if they wish.

if you’ve never been camping before you should call the tourist information centre for the area you plan to visit! and TELL THEM you have never been camping before. and if the area you plan to visit doesn’t have a helpful tourist information centre, you need to change your plans

All the british deception operations in wwii worked because the nazis trusted intelligence more than common sense. Because they were nazis, and stupid.

Reading _Spycatcher_ convinced me that itelligence work was specifically and hugely attractive to people who lacked the capacity to do it, and that countries would be better off without spies entirely than trying to make use of what any plausibly-recruited spy agency would produce.
