It is disappointing that @safety.bsky.app keeps unsuspending Singal, when he explicitly stated he's here to target a group who helped build this site into what it is. Not even pretending good faith. He's here to ruin the vibes and try to normalize harassment of trans users.

This is fucked up.

PSA: I am probably going to be meaner than usual this week as I watch my country decide if it’s going to install a blood thirsty mad king with access to nuclear weapons who wants to kill me and my loved ones.

I imagine this goes for many Americans.

You need to be hobbitmaxing. Burrowmaxing. Take that second breakfast and put a brunch on top of it and then follow it with a cozy nap. You need to be hobbitmaxing.

Oh, and when the original Star Wars trilogy was rereleased in the 90s, my mom would pick me and my sister up from school and go straight to the fancy new stadium seating theater. First time we’d ever seen them. Fuckin’ ruled.
What’s your best memory of watching a movie? I’m not asking what the best movie you’ve ever seen is, I’m asking about the experience of watching that movie. Doesn’t matter if it was in a theater or at home. What’s your favorite memory associated with watching a movie and why?

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to our local drive in theater. We get there hours before the movie starts, set up lawn chairs and enjoy being outdoors. In the summer of 2020 they showed classic movies - Jaws, Jurassic Park - and it was such a reprieve from that year.

A beautiful thread, and reminds me of my own former apartment in an 1880s building. I often have complicated feelings about being the last name on that mailbox, and how suddenly it was gone.
I'm still reading Jack Finney's Time and Again, and on a whim googled my old place, the UWS brownstone apt I landed in after getting hit with a surprise divorce. Moving was the right call but I still cherish the years I spent in that place and ...

The worst is when a restaurant's online menu has not been updated to the current version. Days of planning, wasted!
Yes, I DO look at menus before going to ANY restaurant, sometimes weeks in advance. How the hell does anyone NOT do this

costco should be a sovereign entity w/ one unifying system of laws governing all its stores. costco law would be just & fair and supersede u.s. law within store boundaries. anyone in any state could go in and get an abortion and/or gender affirming care + all their usual groceries, etc

I did not get COVID, for the record. But I'm afraid Covixyl will face a tougher test next week when I am forced to attend an in person work conference with hundreds of people. Cross your fingers for me.

Well, for the first time we know for sure that we've been significantly exposed to COVID (saw a relative on Sat/Sun that tested positive this morning.) Guess we'll see how well Covixyl works...

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted regularly on social media, but I guess if you want there to be a viable alternative to Meta/X, you have to use that viable alternative. So, let’s give it a shot.
