I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

One doesn’t actually need to hear an AI con man say “yeah it’s a bubble.” I get that it’s alluring to cozy up to power & feel like you had a gotcha moment when they told on themselves but it isn’t useful journalism. It’s stenography. Everyone else with critical thinking skills got there long ago.

what drives me nuts about people using chatGPT for math in particular is that wolframalpha has existed for a fucking decade and a half and people act like it never existed
this is why you cannot actually trust an LLM to do math (which MANY people are not aware of):
I keep telling people how it gets "1+1=2" correct only because that's most common sequence of those strings together, but if Reddit or 4chan or whoever started spamming search indexes with "1+1=3," we'd start seeing that as a "correct" answer from genAI.

AI trains you to believe that everything should be easy, but it can never actually deliver that. It can make the easy parts easy, and then drop you straight into the hard parts - like skipping the first disc of the game and getting dropped into Act 2 with no gear or XP.
separate from a job skill or ability to pay someone to do it, there's a critical mindset for how to think like a writer, an artist, a teacher, an engineer, a filmmaker, etc
