Turning Point USA made a literal watch list of professors, primarily women, queer folks and people of color, and made us targets of political violence. I’ve received hate mail and harassment and death threats off and on for nearly a decade in part due to that man’s organization so 🤷🏽‍♀️

BLOOD IN THE MACHINE was given early access to survey data pulled from interviews with 1,400 Californians on their thoughts about AI.

Among the findings:

-59% think AI will primarily benefit corporations and the wealthy
-55% are more concerned than excited
-*70%* want strong AI laws
How California feels about AI
Spoiler: Not great. Plus, how AI is raising our electricity bills, the chatbot therapist that failed to intervene in a suicide, and what lays behind Grok's personas.

the fact that BC Housing is NOT measuring the levels of respiratory viruses and CO2 in the air while they're measuring the amount of fentanyl in the air tells us that this is the production of evidence for a decision that's already been made

Here's the thing about claims that "history will remember."

History doesn't remember. *People* remember.

Reconstruction ended ~150 years ago. For most of that time, Americans have misunderstood, misremembered, & willfully misrepresented it - despite a vast historical record to the contrary.
After the Civil War, Klan terrorism and violence sparked the largest congressional investigation to that point in US history.

But within a few decades, historians used its evidence to exonerate the Klan and indict the whole project of Reconstruction. 🗃️

There is no limit to the amount of money Americans will waste in order to make sure nobody in the lower castes gets something they “don’t deserve”.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.

If the whole idea is that it isn't art, then maybe it shouldn't be referred to as such in discourse. How about generative products or if we want to be honest generative shit.
