The real banger in this is the coinage of the term "epistemia," for something that has the surface appearance of knowledgeability & plausibility but no actual verification or expertise. Gonna get a lot of use, connecting the dots between bullshit, technochauvinism, & epistemic/hermeneutic injustice.
We. Told. You. So. But also, that "May Rely" in the significance section ( 👇🏾 ) is *way* too… let's go with "generous;" lexical associations and statistical priors are what these systems are literally made of, and all that they do. Literally. doi.org/10.1073/pnas...

I do think it's terribly funny in a post-ironic sense that the viewer managed to, accidentally, self-insert themselves into the work and experience the themes firsthand. you couldn't pay for that level of metatextual immersion in a semiotics course

BREAKING: Disney+ is to replace the two-season run of Andor with a recut version that runs for only five minutes, and is just Mon Mothma apologising profusely to Darth Vader for any inconvenience, and letting him have whatever he wants.

Look, if they bring back HUAC, I propose that we just sort of treat it like Shark Tank. They'll make a reality show of it anyway--we could come with pitches for un-American activities, degenerate art, insufficiently-sanitized museums, insufficient obeisances. Maybe bring a trombone, make it festive.

Mamdani will go down in history, but not only for the reason that he's likely to win in November. It's his refusal to engage with the fascist mirrorworld's warped reality as his colleagues & other media do. His insistence on *staying here*, in the lived reality of his people, is the real triumph.
On June 24, I began my Election Night speech by quoting Mandela: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” That's the spirit of this campaign, and our city.

This is "Until It’s Done,” a new series about New Yorkers who refused to accept that a worthy goal was impossible.
