ok to expand on this a little more, i think everyone in this story acts rationally and without intending malice, based on their priors and the values of the society they live in. nobody MEANS to be a bad person in this. but all of this compounds in profoundly failing the mc.

it's just weird to think of myself in that way; i'm not a great artist (my skills are "stick figures" and line art at best). i'm not a great programmer (experienced, but not great). my writing isn't perfect, and i have a lot of bad habits (hi parentheticals).
