Brett Cooper on Nazis in her party: "I don't think I need to sit here and condemn anyone either way."

Brett Cooper on people who took risks to defy Nazis in the 1930s: Those people are heroes, legends. We should all strive to be like that.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Corporate media takes to a fainting couch any time any Democrat - or even any plausibly left-leaning poster on social media - says anything untoward about Republicans' character, but this kind of genocidal language toward Dems has been bog standard on right-wing media for decades now.

Ah, I see, shadow docket *plus* rocket docket for whatever Trump needs.

Reminder that the emoluments clause case filed by Maryland & DC started June 12, 2017 and then was stalled for so long that SCOTUS dismissed it in January 2021 without a decision because Trump losing made it moot.
#BREAKING: Over dissents from Justices Sotomayor, Kagan & Jackson, #SCOTUS grants a stay in the Slaughter case (allowing President Trump to remove the last Dem member of the FTC), *and* grants certiorari "before judgment" to decide whether to formally overrule its 1935 ruling in Humphrey's Executor.

It's become clear that this administration is just a protracted war on anybody who's read a book without pictures in it. It's a miracle we're all still getting up and going to work every morning. The psychological drain is the point, and I'm increasingly grateful to the people who are still decent.

People need to understand that every fifty to a hundred years evil dipshits will build an ideology that valorizes being an evil dipshit and this will need to be beaten back every time.

No country is safe from this. In fact, exceptionalism can make it worse.
