New followers (that are actual people and/or sentient bots): Hi, welcome!

Are you sure about this?

No, really, are you sure this is wise?

I swear a lot, am frequently angry lately, but there are occasional cat and food posts.

Gallows humor is all I’ve got.

The Democrats called out racist shitbags and serial sex offenders.

If you heard those attacks and felt they were calling *you* out personally, then that's entirely on you, champ.

The rest of us white guys didn't hear that. At all.
Dems didn't brand "white dudes" as the "bad guy" as Portnoy suggests. We branded people who support a toxic, hate-filled convicted felon who abuses women and lies constantly about everything as the bad guys, and they just happen to be disproportionately white men.

Important work from @jakemgrumbach.bsky.social that offers a clear explanation of why there is an intense push to change school curricula to make them more white supremacist

The whole term 'democratize' is a term cooked up to make crypto bros look like they are liberating people from the evils of regulated public financial systems. While in fact all they wanted was to liberate people from the regulations in order to inflict malicious unregulated grifting on said people.

I got snipped at the last time I went off on Trope Derangement Syndrome…but every time I see one of those graphics I get incredibly sad for my profession. Art is more than the sum of its TV Tropes tags! Our work is not “content!!” Let us not go gentle into that extremely online night!!!
I get why authors are compelled to do it, but few things make me want to read a book/story less than those tropelist pointing to the book marketing banners. I really wish they'd go away, but I guess they Do work as a marketing tactic on more people than they're off-putting to.

Honestly what’s weirdly breaking my brain more is that the prior post to this is Bradley Cooper, which means he and Barrymore are roughly the same age, which I think is giving me fits because I grew up watching her whereas his stardom is more recent.
Born February 22, 1975, Drew Barrymore is 18,530 days old today, matching Wilford Brimley’s age on the day ‘Cocoon’ was released. Congrats Drew! You’ve reached the Brimley/Cocoon Line.
