So as off right now the Falconeer is 50% off to celebrate its release. And here's a #howitstarted shot by shot comparison of how the game evolved with the Remaster.

If you enjoyed the game, now is no better time than to leave a review on steam and support!

I just bought a switch 2 , and mario party jamboree.
Having not owned a switch ever before, but holy shit I've got three heavily frustrated kids. cuz that's not a kids game.
We haven't even figured out how to get more players in, it takes forever to get to playing. Everything is online?

A small tease of the hull control gizmos.. and how the hull and its various aspects is generated to conform to the gizmos. Deck, Cross section, Bow and Stern are all controlled via these spinal gizmos.

I've played around with some persistent AI environments and its meaningless wobbly shite.

It's what people with no understanding of games imagine games will be, their imagination stretches no further than endless pacman, and they see players as little cash dispensing hamsters.
When are these genAI people going to understand that human error is the foundation of art. I - and I believe many others - don't need a company that uses insane amounts of water to generate these sterile digital products, and erases the messy reality of creation. www.ft.com/content/9b1b...

This christmas let us tear down the hero's journey in games.

No sacrifice, no loss,no community, no personal growth can survive the neverending power fantasy of hero-games.

You have levelled up, but you are not a hero. Otherwise you would have cured/convinced/avoided the pile corpses at your feet.

little Mancer boat for xmas!

precariously stacked items.. check..

I've spend a week iterating over gizmos, trying to reduce them to the minimal function. and it's worked quite well. I've even been able to add more control. With lots of custom deformable objects, (like stretching the conning tower), or using the stretch gizmo as a rotation handle,

That AI and ProcGen debate again, this one kinda hurts cuz I love proc-gen, It's like an artform to deconstruct and find the hidden relations in what you are creating. It's a deliberate deconstruction.

Not randomly stacking bricks of random shite together until it becomes a house.

Gizmos.. I have a few

So this ingame ship creator is at the very early stage. But it already has that Bulwark flaw: Its fast and near effortless, so you tend to get somewhere cool in literally minutes , but that won't click for some grind addicted gamers.

It seems I am gonna roll that boat uphill over and over again.

Hahah my kids got a hold of the build...
December 22, 2025 at 4:46 PM
hmmm I feel this could be an addictive little editor.

ooh finally AI made me laugh.. brilliant
They really nailed the parody of commercials "produced" by genAI vm.tiktok.com/ZGdmdpKRx/

#screenshotsaturday. It seems I've moved beyond the TestHull and gone down to actually having a decent toolset on this Ship design editor. #Ancientwaves #Bulwark

For those tuning in on the boats.. psss it's a secret ;)

What's truly funny is that when using Claude AI,, the app itself, the interface to this future changing tech, is goddamn awful.

poorly designed,a buggy mess that cannot even refresh its window properly, will lose inputs you write, and generally is a cheaply made, poorly designed Slop.
December 19, 2025 at 11:23 AM
When applying known solutions, you are interested in a short path to testable result.

When you need that which doesn't exist and you cannot yet quantify, then you are going to iterate and search, the journey becomes the process of creation, AI becomes less useful.

That is what concept art is!

It's so cute, with its wittle guns..

And he is having a great time doing it!

Thx!

Alright so I won't be posting a lot of this the coming months cuz I'll be hard at work creating the best ship creation tool/game design around.

But this is what my generative code can produce as of now.

I mean I can bemoan all the failures in this industry, but this is what its about. #gamedev

Alright less complaining. Back to making games.

Let the corporations figure it out. Who am I eh..

(Deleted some threads about corporations sinking cash into bad ideas, when there is a world of scalable succesful indiegames out there to support).

Frustration isn't what I need today.

Sometimes you see a game that so nails this retro look so well. It makes the visuals more appealing , make the restrictions work for the visuals and it just looks so incredible. I mean this oozes style and mood.

Stunning #indiegame

This is is getting kids hooked thru gambling mechanics. These are all the same tricks used by online gambling. Coded for kids.

Its fucking the grossest thing. It makes me be ashamed to be in the same industry.

Burn it with fire.

So I did some evaluating of AI coding tools again, trying to keep up.

I tried Claude this time, which is indeed a lot more capable. But it's kinda freaky how much it still makes the same mistakes and get stuck in the same loops.
