i can’t write a better post than this, but just here to say that this film had an astounding impact on how i live my life (“Still fighting for the Big Issues, but now in my small, individual way”) & both Ruth Gordon & Bud Cort were just magical together.

soooo many meltdowns in class today that my ears are actually ringing

makes me wonder if they were all having pressure issues with the big weather changes, like babies on a plane.

at any rate, glad it’s a short week for them (and the teachers 😅)!

a friend sent me this reading list they found by “TomesandTextiles” on FB, and I thought it was a pretty cool thing to do.

caveat to the “spring-like” statement that followed the “glad winter isn’t over yet” exultation: it looks like more snow will show up throughout that 2-week period, & nights will be in the 20’s, so it’s just “Pennsylvania weather, who tf knows 🤷🏻‍♀️” lol

and next tuesday is “move the storage unit day”, since it’ll be 54°F & sunny.

i should probably book a full body massage the following afternoon so i don’t just flat-out crawl into bed and stay there until March?

the next 2 weeks are looking suspiciously spring-like, so that probably means that all of my afternoons this week will be pruning the 🍎 , 🍐 , & 🍒 trees before they start their shenanigans.

was hoping to wait until the end of Feb. w/that, but 2/14-2/21 look to have daily 40’s & 50’s highs 😖

also got the very last of the snow off the roof w/the impossibly long snow rake.
backyard is a slushy wonderland, & the path we cleared for Toby now resembles a 5’ long 2” deep wading pool, as the melted snow has nowhere to go, quite yet.
was a great respite day; glad winter isn’t over yet tho!

took advantage of the warm weather to go thru the boxes i brought home from the storage unit a few weeks ago.
sat my mom in the sun & brought her boxes to go thru & then sort into giveaway or use/repack.
we have a minivan full of donations & cardboard, & a much more organized garage (for now 😅)

Councilor Barb Warwick introduced a bill Tuesday that would direct the Department of City Planning to collect data on the usage of curb-cuts, intersections, bus stops, and other infrastructure, so that Pittsburgh can establish processes for better clearing them of snow.
City councilor calls for faster snow removal at Pittsburgh sidewalks and bus stops
In the wake of the historic snowfall that blanketed Pittsburgh city streets this past month, one City Councilor wants to gather data on the use of street crossings, bus shelters and sidewalks — an eff...

ceilings are good, but part of roof is slightly damp in the attic, but that’s from the ice shelf that was directly on top of it & that’s almost gone. fans are going, and i think the boards will dry fully, so fingers crossed!

mine doesn’t seal in some spots either, on the sunroom (which was an addition), which is probs why the breaker on that wall has been tripping for weeks. i think i need to insert lengths of flashing when it’s dry to make any water roll out/over those spots. it’s cheap/easy, too, so hopefully it helps

“not wet” is probably very good!
February 10, 2026 at 6:16 PM
probably is, but i thought it was funny considering the expected weather lol

hearing the sound of water trickling everywhere” if it’s _outside_, not in your house, of course!
February 10, 2026 at 6:13 PM
how’d it go? i’m heading home now to check on the same thing!
February 10, 2026 at 6:11 PM
so nice when you go into work and it’s 25°F and you come out a few hours later and it’s 54°F

suddenly hearing the sound of trickling water everywhere also does a lot for the soul, too

Just saw a flock of geese flying north for the first time since December, so that’s heartening, lol
