BRT Bus Rapid Transit @TransMilenio
In Bogota for celebration of Ciclovia, went for a run and enjoyed seeing democracy at play: comfortable buses passing by private cars in jams.
Watch video.
If all people are equal, then 120 on a bus should have the right of space of 120 cars.

A new analysis published in the journal Science reveals that overfishing has caused populations of chondrichthyan fishes – sharks, rays, and chimaeras – to decline by more than 50 per cent since 1970.

We've agreed that this will henceforth be known in popular discourse and technical literature as the Magic Carpet fallacy. It needs a name on an emergency basis because of the growing threat this specific fallacy poses in American political discourse.

Food dyes that MAHA screams about:

1️⃣aren’t banned in Europe.
2️⃣aren’t impacting health.

This is a distraction from ACTUAL issues.

Like:
90% of Americans don’t eat enough fiber & fruits/veggies
Half of us don’t have access to adequate healthcare.

It isn’t the food dyes.

Clouds affect Earth's weather and climate in many ways. New research suggests that the presence of microplastic particles could alter these processes.

dear dietitians please ✋️ stop making ridiculous claims about individual foods "boosting the immune system" .
Yes, nutrition is an important component of immunity & health but you suggesting a particular food will somehow "boost" the immune system 🤪

Americans don’t “prefer” sprawl, it is basically their only choice in most of the country in communities of all sizes.

If you take a closer look, you will see that real estate value per square foot is highest in truly walkable places, from Boulder to Portland to Chicago. /1
I live in a rural village of about 500 in upstate NY

it is a 15-minute city. no joke

things I can walk to:

-grocery store
-post office
-kid’s school
-Trailways bus to NYC
-hospital
-coffee shop
-deli
-wine bar
-bank
-cute shops
-auto shop
-library
-DMV
-village HQ
-hardware store
A very well written article about suburban sprawl versus #walkable neighborhoods, reporting that most people prefer sprawl to walkable neighborhoods.

#Nashville ranks as one of the least walkable cities, mostly taking half an hour or more to walk to food, shops, & transit. 🦞
