Test Time Training is an approach that gives LLMs a kind of state/memory, described in this thread (#1):

i've been saying for a month or so now the chance of a recession is actually shrinking and what is becoming more likely is growth slows to like 0-1% and inflation re-accelerates to like 3-5% www.apolloacademy.com/inflation-ri...

It is hard to get over that the Q-Anon folks spent years feverishly looking in pizza parlors for the cabal of rich, elite pedophiles and it turns out THERE WAS ONE, right in front of their noses, which they failed to identify and instead voted for three times in a row.

It's so funny to me that in every thread about Platner has a mix of people saying "the leftists are the ones defending him" and people saying "the liberals/centrists are defending him"
Sadly, there are plenty of people in both groups who don't find bigotry disqualifying.
This is a yikes too. He gets dogwalked by Susan Collins even though Generic Dem has a 9 pt margin.

What I find funny is that the median Maine voter sees his tattoo and comments about sexual assault as a non-starter but we had how many people defending that shit here on Bluesky?

Yes, Trump is a white nationalist, and yes, Americans elected him to the presidency twice. But Trump is also, for a lot of reasons, rather unique. You run for office saying the things Fuentes does and, outside of the reddest of red districts, you're going to get clobbered.

I think it's important to confront the fact that, for the most part, to be male, under 28, and "conservative" is to be an actual Nazi. There are exceptions, but that's what they are. Exceptions.
I wrote a piece a few weeks ago claiming antisemitism was on the verge of going mainstream. It was clear to me that most people had trouble buying it.

That's understandable. But it's happening.

Example: Conservatives themselves are now saying that 30 to 40% of Zoomers in Washington are Groypers.

This seems to be what Morris is getting at.

Perhaps GOP ought to implement policies that support the middle class on the income side. This would be a good political strategy, which of course Trump and by extension the GOP will not do.

IIRC, there's some research showing that the aftermath of inflation still feels like inflation to a lot of folks because they focus on price levels, not rate of change, and have a fairly long memory of previous prices, which takes a lot of time to adjust.

The difference, though, is that the economy now under Trump is getting worse, inflation is increasing, job growth is happening, etc. The puzzle about Biden was that the economy was actually good & everyone thought it was terrible:

A problem of American political parties, more so than in other countries, is the dismissive attitude towards party discipline and the willingness to let individual electeds do what they want rather than follow a party line. Having the Senate leader not endorse a major candidate is a good example

i don't think people really understand how insane a democrat winning NJ-07 **ON THE STATE LEVEL** is

under these lines, NJ-07 went to the GOP candidate by double digits for every single governor's election for the past few decades (including 2017 and 2021)

and sherrill straight up WON it
it's too glorious....

Uh, Christianity has been institutionally antisemitic for over 1,000 years, and it only stopped after WWII.

Being a Christian before WWII was the pre-20th century equivalent of being a Nazi, and the cross was basically a swastika.

Like, good Christians were often antisemites.

A bit of a contrarian view. Democrats likely won't pay a price for this in the midterms. The American memory is quite short on political machinations. But Republicans are about to learn a central tenet of American politics: You cannot give people a benefit and then take it away.

Begala’s criticism of Mamdani’s vote share is so disingenuous! Yes, the candidate facing both Republican and intra-party opposition in a high turnout election did not perform as well as candidates running essentially unopposed in low turnout ones.

It's very hard when one of the 8, Durbin, is the whip. He has to be removed from that position. This is much more tractable and less risky than any other option such as primaries.

No, according to Fetterman, the stroke "liberated" him to share what he always believed, but never had the guts to say.

So it's not the stroke's "fault" - Fetterman was always a POS, he just used to hide it better.

dear americans if your politician reveals he's got, at minimum best case, a tendency to dumbass step onto swastika-shaped rakes *before* getting elected to anything important, you should take that as a gift and breathe a sigh of relief for a missed bullet, thanks

The Platner BS = classic mediocre WM privilege.
The reason so many effing WMs rallied to him as their savior is because mediocre WMs in the US desperatley want that privilege to be reinforced and if they have to choose a Nazi as their leader to enforce it, maybe, just maybe, they'll become fckable.
The whole Platner defense seems to amount to, if someone is wearing swastika armband but then take it off and claim they were wearing it by mistake, you must immediately embrace them. And if you have lingering suspicions, don’t you think you’re being just a bit whiny and neurotic?

I think its even worse than that. Its "if someone is wearing a nazi armband, but you think theyre pretty cool, you're free to disregard it if they assure you it doesnt ~really~ represent their politics"
