I'm currently at a museum within 5 minutes of the White House, and I passed half a dozen closed restaurants in the ~two blocks to walk here.
Trump says "The restaurants are opening" This is not true. I live downtown and restaurants are virtually empty.

Yes, they’re planning on attacking more countries soon, and the Pentagon is 💯 on board.
Caine says US intelligence studied what Maduro did, where he lived, what he ate, etc to specify how he should be captured.

Also, he started explaining the prep by stating: “since we could be asked to do this again”

It's crystal clear: a pending criminal indictment does NOT cure the clear illegality of this attack under int'l law. It violated the UN Charter in just the same way Russia's attack on Ukraine did. And unlike our 1989 Panama invasion, there seems not even a pretense of a threat to Americans there.
Vance pushes back and says this was not illegal, arguing "Maduro has multiple indictments in the United States for narcoterrorism. You don't get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the United States because you live in a palace in Caracas."

Seeing some weird conspiracy theories about why Venezuela’s Russian-made air defense didn’t work and well, here’s some of it not working inside Russia to defend their own navy base against direct hits on itself by Ukrainian strikes a month ago…
That night, Ukraine’s special forces struck the Novorossiysk port, hitting an oil terminal and S-300/S-400 positions. A Project 1171 landing ship was reportedly damaged.

Russian air defense was so active it even fired toward civilian buildings.

Maduro's advisors are now closely studying the precedent of Juan Orlando Hernández, the Honduran president and lead cocaine dealer who was pardoned by Trump, to ascertain the amount of crypto they need and the path for paying it.

Republicans have been openly jonesing for a redo on the Mexican War of 110 years ago since 9/11 at least—I honestly expected this before Venezuela, but today is obvs the test run, like Spain and Czechoslovakia in the Thirties
Trump on Sheinbaum: "The cartels are running Mexico. She's not running Mexico. We could be politically correct & nice and say, 'Oh, yes, she is.' No no. And I've asked her number times, 'Would you like us to take out the cartels?' ... something is gonna have to be done with Mexico."

Once again, one of the primary reasons we have arrived at this point (completely out-of-control & unconstitutional abuse of executive power to conduct wildly illegal foreign policy) is that no one, including the most senior people involved, went to jail for the rest of their lives for Iran-Contra.

The Trump admin has fused the war on terror with the war on drugs to create a framework for justifying its own acts everywhere from Chicago to Caracas.

Remember the helicopter raid on a Chicago apartment building? A key rationale was to go after the Venezuelan TdA.*

Same with Caracas raid.

It should not be so difficult for people to understand this.

Republicans hold all three branches of the USG. They could stop this if they wanted to do so. They don't.
If Congress is to survive as an institution, the Republican majority must join us exercising our power to hold this administration accountable for this flagrant violation of the constitution.
