Unironically the thing I love about this point, is that it's a great basis to start talking to y'all about the fact that most of the people in jail in the US are just as innocent as Khalil. Many are Black folk that have been arrested with *absolutely no basis*, but wait *over a year* to see a judge.
The thing about the Khalil case is that it's very very good that he's free now but you can't have it take three months between "the government kidnaps you off the street for no basis reason whatsoever" and "a judge makes them let you go." You just can't.

At a WorldCon, I was power-walking to the signups for a event I really wanted to go to and nearly ran over one of the many guys at any given con who look like George R R Martin. When I turned to apologize (while still power-walking) I saw his name badge and it was, in fact, George R R Martin.

Also point this out to anyone you can. These were not planned protests. These were normies getting the supplies for their weekend projects or at a restaurant and saw their servers getting hauled off and were like this is some bullshit.
This is a fever dream. The city is not under migrant occupation. This whole thing kicked off because ICE began an intense operation across the city to raid Home Depots and nail salons and places where random undocumented immigrants might be going about their day working a job.
