I heard it used on npr the other day and thought: “Cracking down on what, exactly?”
I keep seeing the word "crackdown" being used to describe ICE kidnapping, disappearing, torturing, and illegally renditioning people. This implies that their victims are committing crimes. That's just not accurate. The crackdown will be when we finally put ICE agents on trial.
