i get why “jumping the shark” has come to have its present meaning but it doesn’t make historical sense to me. if i were a Happy Days fan and saw the Fonz waterski over a shark at that time i would have felt we’d just won the Cold War

had a meeting recently where an exec used the ol “whether you like it or not, AI is here to stay.” and you know, it’s weird how not a single tech innovation that has “stayed” in my lifetime required this much hard persuasion from the people invested in it
