I am not going to suggest anyone because (a) it's too early, (b) it could be someone we haven't even thought of, and (c) I don't want my replies to fill up with why Candidate X is so bad/awesome, etc

Get through the midterms. Those will be incredibly important.
Who do you think would be the best Dem candidate for president in 2028?

new euphemism for "fact" dropped, today's is "scientific orthodoxy"
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
RFK Jr. Says He Instructed CDC to Change Vaccines and Autism Language on Website
In an interview, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cited gaps in vaccine safety research. His critics say he is ignoring a larger point: Vaccines save lives.

Breaking character: I am open to the idea the media's coverage of Biden's age and mental acuity was fair or perhaps not even tough enough. But the fact that it was so much tougher than the coverage of Trump's (more severe) mental decline is damning and I can't see how anyone could argue otherwise.

Clean Energy accounted for all electricity growth this year. Gas/Coal were basically a wash and will be for years to come for electricity generation.

We need to ramp up batteries because they are 90% cheaper than distribution grid upgrades which is the main reason we have rate increases.

Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

And now, to open a internet browsing window and read what I'm sure are literally dozens of pieces reporting on the sweeping democrat victories, the obvious anti-Trump mood it represents, and how Trump should -- nay, has a *responsibility* to! -- compromise with the left on matters great and small.

There’s only one way to explain why questions like “who do NYC voters like for mayor,” and “what do San Franciscans think about George Washington,” become national issues that define the Democratic Party, while genuine Republican extremism with national implications is glossed over as a local issue.
The whole state of Idaho banning all vaccine mandates should be bigger news! If you want your grandmother's nursing home or your daughter's day care to require nurses and teachers to vaccinate, you literally can't! None of them are allowed to require that.

People fucking hate this guy. They fucking hate ICE. They fucking hate how much power he has. He is at 63% overall disapproval to 37% approval. That's lower than their poll after January 6th. And this poll was done before he started intentionally starving people. I wish our media would reflect this.

OK, so Trump is obviously Tom Buchanan. Racist based on pseudoscience he doesn't understand, born rich and had everything handed to him his whole life, murders people and gets away with it.

This is interesting and important. Democrats (and the left in general) need to stop seeing unpopularity as a virtue, that proves how special and smart and righteous they are.
2) Republicans use polls to shape strategy, not to shape their positions.

Public opinion is malleable. Most people don't have firm opinions. Republicans shape the river. Democrats chase the currents--and it hasn't worked.

Everybody's talking about Dem strategy, so here's something to add to the mix.

I start with this premise: The best and most reliable indicator of whether someone will vote red or blue is the density of the place they live. More dense, more likely to be blue, & vice versa.

The reason America is so right wing, is EVEN AMONG LEFTISTS AND LIBERALS, the archetypal lefty is a spoiled rich girl who got into an Ivy off daddy’s connections and now obnoxiously lectures you about intersectionality. How can we win when this is our image even to us?
(5/X) The Platonic ideal of a donor is a divorced finance guy who thought his daughter would forgive him for leaving her mom when he pulled strings to get her into Penn but instead she came home at Thanksgiving wearing a Che t-shirt and talking about intersectionality.

(1/X) Check out a typical Harper's letter signatory's Twitter feed and you'll mostly *still* find 80% complaints about the "woke left", even in the midst of the greatest government crack-down on free speech in at least 60 tears.

Why? Because the "free speech" movement is donor/patron-driven.
