Muted my first word ever on Bluesky: Nuzzi. She does not need any extra attention and eyeballs, even on negative commentary about her. Any attention gives her relevancy she does not deserve. . Delighted to have her out of my feed.

I always learn from @davekarpf.bsky.social . His response to the NYT piece on the Sierra Club is very enlightening, not just (or even especially) as media criticism, but more as a discussion of civic associations and progressive advocacy at this moment. open.substack.com/pub/davekarp...

And lots of people don’t even realize how much transportation is costing them, or that we could do it differently: make streets more walkable and bike-able.
Transportation costs are the second largest burden on American family budgets (17%), after housing (33%)!
To address the affordability crisis, we must create cities with abundant housing of all types (subsidized, social, coop, market rate) and make walking, biking, and taking transit convenient.

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

Trump relentlessly boasts he’s brought gasoline prices way down. The truth is they’re still slightly higher year on year and have spent almost all of 2025 solidly higher.
Somehow no one in media ever corrects him.

That is a lot of loans 60+ days behind on car loan repayments.
(Reuters) - The share of subprime borrowers at least 60 days behind on their auto loans rose to 6.65% in October, the highest level on record, according to Fitch Ratings data going back to the early 1990s.

Certainly not a life goal of mine, fighting really hard to make sure people cannot eat.
It's unbelievable how hard this administration is fighting to keep millions of Americans hungry.

Want more business leaders to see this! We can have more car free spaces AND more commercial activity. Seems no brainer in a time of many other challenging choices
It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.

Quite the shift here in GA, running on the truth about affordability.
Georgia Republicans say they’d be foolish not to heed the lessons of the PSC races, when Democrats didn’t just run up the score in liberal strongholds. They outperformed their party’s 2024 presidential vote share in all but two of Georgia’s 159 counties.

Spending less on a dying technology makes good business sense. Too bad the US is not investing for the future, just trying to hold on to a past that will never come back.

Just because we don’t have the full employment data does not mean it is not bad
Had the Bureau of Labor Statistics released its monthly nonfarm payrolls report for October, economists surveyed by Dow Jones expect it would have shown a decline of 60,000 jobs and an unemployment rate increase to 4.5%.

Jobs Friday won't be happening again this week as the record-long government shutdown has resulted in a lack of official data.

$39 a year folks. Thats what killing 600,000 to date will save you.

Would it be nice to live on a world where every country with the means worked to make the world a better place?

Yes. Of course.

In the meantime if you say preventing the deaths of millions isn’t worth $3 a month, fuck you.
I dunno. I do like our government spending less money anywhere they can. I like even more if my taxes go down as a result. Since when is our job to be the world’s mom and dad? Did other countries step up to fill that gap?
