Freedom in America means our government can’t just enter our homes without proper legal authority. We were so sure of that we wrote it into our Constitution.

President Trump and Secretary Noem don’t get to just throw those rights out the window on a whim.
Internal memo authorizes ICE to enter homes without judicial warrants in some cases
ICE authorized its officers to enter homes without judicial warrants in the cases of people with deportation orders, a sweeping reversal of longstanding rules, according to a whistleblower complaint.

ICE insists they’re only detaining “the worst of the worst.”

This is who they’re actually detaining in Minneapolis.

Do five year old children like Liam look like the worst of the worst to you?

We need to wake up— we can't afford to keep pretending Trump doesn't mean what he says.

Our Democracy isn't a joke. These are dangerous words that should be strongly condemned.

Not enough money to lower your health care, food, or housing costs, but enough money for this?
'Department of War' rebranding could cost as much as $125M, hundreds of millions more if it becomes legal name: CBO
The Congressional Budget Office estimates it will cost taxpayers anywhere from $10 million to $125 million to rebrand the Defense Department as the "Department of War."

Today marks the end of Open Enrollment, and for folks up and down our state, it means making impossible decisions in the face of rising costs Republicans refuse to address.

Don't take it from me — listen to Vonda tell her story, a common one taking place all across America.

Let Me Be Blunt: some strange things are circulating on social media.

This week, I led a group of 8 Senators to demand accountability from big tech and better policies to keep people safe online.

If this reporting is true, there is a SERIOUS problem at DHS that might explain the lack of discipline we're seeing play out across the country.

Law enforcement officers should be held to the highest standard of the law, and we should be vetting them thoroughly.

To this administration, your life and the health of our communities is just the cost of doing business.

From the streets of Minneapolis to the halls of the Fed, this administration’s clear and brazen belief that it can impose its will without guardrails is dangerous for our safety and our economy.

I’ll keep doing everything I can in Congress to hold them accountable.

Federal agents shot two people in East Portland.

I’m demanding a full investigation that includes Oregon law enforcement—we can’t trust federal agencies to run a transparent and unbiased investigation.

ICE needs to end their dangerous operations in Oregon NOW.
January 9, 2026 at 3:53 PM
This has to stop.
I'm monitoring first awful reports of two people shot in Portland by federal law enforcement. I'll keep you updated, but Trump's deployment of federal agents in my hometown is clearly inflaming violence — and must end.

*17* House Republicans just joined Democrats to revive and extend ACA tax breaks, because they know families can't afford the massive price hikes they face today.

It's time for Leader Thune to bring this bill to the floor and give Republican Senators the same chance to do what's right.
January 8, 2026 at 10:57 PM
By now you've probably seen the tragic video of an ICE agent shooting a Minnesota woman as she tried to drive away.

The agent responsible for this tragedy must be brought to justice, and it's time for Secretary Noem to resign.

The Constitution explicitly gives Congress the power to declare war for a reason, that's why I voted 'yes' on today's war powers resolution.

It's time my colleagues started taking this president at his word and acting before he recklessly drags us into war.

As we continue to reflect on 5 years since the January 6th riot, we are reminded that while there are those that continue to try and tear down our Republic, we have the power to choose progress and defend our democracy.
January 7, 2026 at 10:52 PM
This isn't true. Watch the video.

This officer was clearly unprepared to be in this situation and shouldn't have been there in the first place.

This administration needs to take accountability.
Kristi Noem accuses the woman who was killed by ICE in Minneapolis of committing an act of "domestic terrorism"
January 7, 2026 at 10:46 PM
This is tragic. My prayers are with the victim, her family, and the Minneapolis community.

The agents deployed by this administration are untrained for these situations, ultimately doing more harm than good and making our communities less safe.

They must de-escalate before more people get hurt.
A US citizen has apparently been shot by ICE agents in Minneapolis. I’m gathering information, but the situation on the ground is volatile.

ICE should leave now for everyone’s safety.

It's been distorted, romanticized, even downplayed.
