Can't wait to see all the conservatives insisting you should make your own pasta at home or just eat grits like a REAL American.
The idea that having cheap, delicious Italian pasta ‘dumped’ into the country is somehow something to be avoided cuts to the root of how absurd tariffs are
The U.S. is threatening to hit Italian pasta with a punitive antidumping tariff — and one company said it would have to double its pasta prices to keep up.

Call it the Durbin-Schumer Caved Amendment
Buried inside the deal to reopen government is a provision that would give Senators private right of action to sue for millions in damages over their phone records being analyzed by Jack Smith's team.

Meesa not want to live on this planet anymore.
Of all the things this year that could have done it, it was actually seeing a poster arguing, seemingly seriously, that not liking Jar Jar Binks is racist that convinced me we're done as a civilization.

For “a Bills love story” the trailer has an alarming lack of buffalo wings and Labatt Blue. And flat A’s.

I’m frustrated with Schumer’s inability to lead and with the Dems who broke rank for very little gain if any. And im frustrated with the online folks talking about the very real suffering that was occurring as if it’s all just theoretical in a war game.

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis
For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare
We will keep fighting

I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.
And make health insurance affordable.
The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

A “deal” that leaves millions facing higher health costs in exchange for empty promises is a betrayal.
Americans are counting on Democrats to stand up for them, not give in.
The Senate should reject it, and I will vote NO if it reaches the House.

The whole point of linking the ACA funding to the CR was that it gave leverage to Democrats. Having a free-standing ACA funding bill eliminates that leverage - even if it passes Congress, Trump will just veto it.
Major concession from Democrats here is enhanced ACA funds aren’t extended. Preserving them was Dems’ central demand in this fight. They secured a promise of a vote (which Thune has been offering for weeks), but that could still fail. Even if it passes, Johnson has made no promise of a House vote.
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:
—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
—Led by King/Shaheen/Hassan

Name and shame the Senate Dems who caved on shutdown without ACA funding. They gave in to the promise of a vote for something the GOP has spent well over a decade trying to destroy. That vote is meaningless, especially when Johnson has said it’s a non-starter in the house.
Disgusting.

There is no irreparable harm for the government…beyond that being done by the Trump admin in the eyes of 42 million Americans they are trying everything in their power to starve.
The Trump administration tells the Supreme Court it can’t be compelled to fully fund SNAP because paying out the money would “irreparably harm” the government, while SNAP beneficiaries … *won’t* be irreparably harmed by going hungry? The balance of equities here is completely upside down.
