NIH scientist Dr. Jenna Norton was just placed on nondisciplinary leave.

She led a team who wrote a sign-on letter critical of The Regime.

A person at NIH asked to give a reason for her leave called her “radical leftist”; while the NIH Director has claimed that “dissent is productive”.

Long Covid is common - ~1 in 5 people have it, and it's on the rise. Reinfections add to the burden. It's the most common chronic condition in children.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

This is what I mean when I say that present-day covid denialism is right wing. It was a plan born of corporatists and wholly adopted by centrists and even leftists eager to pretend the pandemic was over, which should immediately give anyone thinking about it pause.
Remember how just a few years ago during the worst of the pandemic when we saw how the govt can actually do big things and saw that our collective health & well-being are intertwined, and then corporations got mad that they lost a modicum of power and helped fund a backlash of amnesia and fascism?

Before the measles vaccine, humans did not have permanent immunity to *anything*

A measles outbreak would come along and wipe out previous immunities, whether from previous infections or vaccinations.

A fresh, periodic reset on every other disease.

One would think it would give journalists at the NYT, CBS, and CNN pause that Teen Vogue & People Magazine offer better coverage of political news these days, but 🤷‍♂️
We are in a timeline in which People Magazine is publishing legit hard-hitting news headlines while CBS and CNN publicly humiliate themselves.

I don’t like this timeline. But I’m loving People Magazine right now.

I don’t care how “annoying” “virtue-signaling” and “anxious” people with long covid sound, as far as the data shows us, the only thing standing between you and us is the right number of infections, and we are trying desperately to stop you from hitting it.

Something I think is key to highlight is that, despite me having this disease for almost three years, my doctors have absolutely 0% of an idea of what mechanism is causing it. We don’t know if there’s viral fragments in my blood or microbiome damage. And if you don’t know, you can’t treat it.

IMO this is why a lot of ICE agents wear gaiters and masks. It’s not just to avoid social consequences for their actions. It’s because so many of them would almost instantly be identified as known members of white supremacist hate groups. Their bosses probably insisted they mask for this reason.
NEW: CU Boulder sophomore Nathaniel Ellis has been identified as a member of the white supremacist groups Patriot Front and Active Club.

Nathan is on the Executive Board for CU Boulder's Turning Point USA Chapter.

It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

I’m tempted to dunk, but ok, let’s engage seriously.

Putting Japanese-Americans in concentration camps was a fascist activity.

(And I think that if you were Japanese-American at the time, you were experiencing the US as a fascist country.)

Does that mean the US was fascist?

Wrong question.
So I guess the US was also a fascist country when FDR was putting Japanese Americans in internment camps, right?
