Intro post? Okay.
I'm Rob! I've been on a Transformers podcast for 15 years and have been YouTubing for 11 or 12 I think. I mostly cover Gundam games these days, especially #GBO2, and love robot toys and models as well as action figures in general. I'm cranky when people get hurt for fun & profit.

Finally got back to building the GQX Rick Dom tonight. Theraputic.
It's weird how many different shades of dark blue and purple are on this. And definitely intentionally, not any kind of molding variance.

Can anyone who knows ball tell me if SCOTUS denying to hear the case to overturn Obergefell is a mostly a welcome surprise or mostly an indication that the case Evangelical Umbrage was bringing was even more spud-headed nonsense than usual and you suspect they'd rather wait for a better one.

There's a tendency in trans people's parents, when they are accepting, to still want an exaggerate amount of control on their kid's life. I'm not talking about the regular amount of oversight any young person requires, in fact most of the cases I am thinking about right now concern people over 20.

"Take the phone away" is the first item on the list of action recommended by anti-trans parents' orgs.
Do you not think it's bizarre to have strangers on the internet decide they know better than Brianna's own loved ones on what is or isn't insulting to her memory?
I've got no time for Rosie Duffield, but she turned up at a drop-in event in Parliament and that's been the limit of her involvement.

And every time people here talk about climate action there's always hordes of people saying we shouldn't do anything because China pollutes more and is bigger.
China is low bar, high performance. They're delivering results.

Yes there is. It's called "protest outside every office and home he has until he can see your faces when he closes his eyes more clearly than his stupid fucking family of imaginary friends"
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.
Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.
He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

It was like 40 people who left all at pretty much the exact same time. I cannot think of another work environment in which 40 workers/contributors all voluntarily leave if there were not deeply systemic problems with the environment. I don't think any of that is petty.

Real question bc there’s clearly a media culture thing here that I am not getting: Why are we not seeing citations to Sarah Kendzior, who has been on this exact beat for years? What is it about her and/or her work that has made it acceptable to ignore her?

The Epstein files are never going to be released because Republicans aren't the only ones in them
I am kind of sitting here mouth agape as I realize that the thing that really got eight Democrats to cave was a provision which provides backdoor criminal and civil immunity to them personally by making it functionally impossible to ever investigate the Senate
read the actual bill text and this is quite literally a provision designed solely to impede civil and criminal investigations into United States Senators and their staff. www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

the Rosetta Stone of dem politics is the 2006 senate primary which incumbent Joe Lieberman lost in part for making out with George Bush
He ran anyway, won with GOP support, dems let him keep his seniority, chairmanships and perks & he rewarded them by obstructing the ACA & killing the public option

An important question you cannot skip over in pursuit of the Primary Them All solution is: how likely is it that defeating entitled narcissists in a primary will actually stop them from running?
