start down that road and you become incapable of normal human interaction

Liz Truss is so funny because she might be the first recorded case of Twitter frying the brain of a celebrity without anyone on the platform actually engaging with her.

She became a fascist lunatic by osmosis because she's not important or interesting enough to have a fanbase to pull her right.

We've always had these dead-eyed socipaths around. It's just a few years ago they were ignored and now they're "senior fellow" at places funded by evil millionaires + going on podcasts with a brain-rotted ex-PM.
Harrison Pitt accuses the King of treachery. Pitt is a Senior Policy Fellow for Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain, who also regularly co-hosts podcasts with his ally Tomlinson (who advocates banning all ethnic and faith minorities from public office). Like Lowe, Pitt is keen to dissolve boundaries/norms

This encapsulates what has driven me crazy about since she was trying to get professors fired when we were college classmates — this air of condescension, like she’s working for the common good and just trying to get you to do the same. Obviously it’s grift but the TONE of it just kills me.
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

Well, there's already two ex-UK ambassadors working in Westminster on behalf of a pro-Russian foreign government whose de facto leader is under UK sanctions...

The Bari Weiss hysteria continues. Exactly what in "this piece isn't ready" and "try harder to get comment from the administration" constitutes the death of American journalism? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

I don’t wanna sound partisan but I think it’s bad when the president keeps raging publicly about free speech and late night comedy he doesn’t like and threatening state censorship all the time, and also using language that is easily construed as calling for someone’s death
O come, all ye faithful.
The President is posting.

Also screw the BBC for its naked agenda. It refused to carry a hugely expensive first ever YouGov survey we commissioned showing how awful trans lives in the UK have become because it was "not strong enough" but there's no piece of anti-trans hatred too petty for it to platform.
Total gaslighting. Anti-trans activist; chooses to speak in person, provoking students who want to protect trans rights; they exercise their freedom of speech to tell her she isn't wanted; she gets to speak anyway; the BBC dutifully platforms her again; and now she threatens to sue everyone.

This, published by the "patriotic" Telegraph, seems to me pretty full-on, unabashed Putin apologia, blaming Europe for Putin's aggression. It is indistinguishable from the set of Kremlin-talking-points, that we have been hearing from his officials and proxies. ~AA
