You know what I think about people in £2 million pound houses whining about lifting children out of poverty?

They're cunts.

So I suppose now the cap has been removed, the immigrants will be popping out kids left right and centre in the 2 million pound mansions that the government gives them, WITH THEIR FLAT SCREEN TVs!

People know exactly what‘s going on.
Why do people think England flags have been raised on lampposts?

White adults
National pride: 26%
Anti-migrant/minority sentiment: 49%
Both: 19%

Ethnic minority adults
National pride: 15%
Anti-migrant/minority sentiment: 55%
Both: 20%

Have been thinking about “immigration has been tearing this country apart.” Surely I’m not the only person to think that it isn’t true, but inflamed rhetoric about immigration by politicians is what is tearing this country apart and so statements like that only makes it worse.

The Daily Mail has been relentlessly attacking the BBC over the editing of Trump quotes in a documentary and look:

It completely fabricated a quote from a BBC presenter. Robinson should sue them for, ooh, at least $2 billion dollars as it’s worse than what they accused the BBC of.

Nothing to see here except some proud, jingoistic Brits in Benidorm, clogging up a Spanish street to rant in English about, you guessed it, foreigners.

Truly a miracle they’re immune to irony.

NEW: The biggest union in the BBC, Bectu, has written to culture secretary Lisa Nandy and BBC chair Samir Shah, demanding the removal of Robbie Gibb from the BBC Board.

They say Gibb, a political appointee, is a “direct block to the BBC maintaining its chartered objective of independence”.

A tram lights up the gloom during the biting early winter of 1947. Amazingly, it's only 2.30pm on this November day as the freezing smog takes hold. Glasgow would endure frequent pea-soupers prior to the Clean Air Act of 1956.

Given that the far right hates Black and Brown people, hates women, hates immigrants, hates liberals, leftists and greens, hates students and universities, hates civil servants, hates disabled people, hates gay and trans people and hates Jews and Muslims, what is this country it claims to love?

It's like the crocodile story Ken Clarke once told me. You can feed buns to the crocodiles until the cows come home.
Once you run out of buns, they'll eat you anyway.
They'll never stop.

Barely mentioned but that now notorious Trump Panorama *wasn’t made by the BBC*

It was an indie production (as so much is)

Even if was BBC, head of news or DG would wouldn’t have been involved in edits

And a reminder that the MO of the Conservative Party is the continued transferral of public assets into private hands. Even small decisions like this perpetuate that.

It is relentless and that we have voted for them to lead the State is a massive own goal.
Key point in an important thread.
We might also wonder why the BBC entrusts episodes of its leading current affairs strand to outside producers. But that takes us back to Conservative govmt demands, under the guise of market liberalisation, that they shift spending to independents. The slow death of the BBC was planned long ago…
