Exactly right. The lottery heritage fund, @historicengland.bsky.social and all involved with the Iron Duke treated publicans appallingly and chose a duo who own burger bars to run this historic public house. Costing 2.5 million of public money.

This is all marvellous but a shame that Historic England listing doesn't necessarily save the heritage & function of a pub, even when vast public resources have been used to save the building, as in the Art Deco masterpiece the Iron Duke. @sovenna.bsky.social
