Happy publication day to 'Beer Festivals: a great British tradition'.

My second book is out in the world, and you can get your hands on a copy from the CAMRA website now.

I find almost everything about this headline incredibly confusing. It is the Fosters story, in case you weren't sure.

We had a swim, then took a chippy lunch to the pub. We squeezed in a game of Uno too. That took all afternoon, and it was good.

There aren’t many outlets that post such regular content dedicated to cider. And though we only publish once a week this year (last year was a blistering twice a week), I’m proud of the coverage we give. We don’t get mentioned much on socials or beer sites, but if you like this kind of content… 🙂

Glass of wine, sofa, crochet because this afternoon has been an absolute carnival of horrors and I refuse to engage with the world anymore. Good night.

I don't know why I've got Jingle Bells in my head, but it appears to be quite firmly embedded and I think I wish it would not now.

The government's live flood warning map suggests the problem is even more significant than I had feared.

Well, this is infuriating. Found a great journal on JSTOR from 1823, but none of the plates seem to be included so I can't find the diagram I want. Anyone got any ideas how I can access them??

This month in Vineyard Magazine, I'm talking about contract winemaking, with interviews from Defined Wine, Halfpenny Green Wine Estate, Black Mountain Vineyard and Hattingley Valley Wines. Plus a directory of all the active contract winemakers I could find.
Contract winemaking – supporting vineyards of all sizes

Christmas adverts do not require a press release. Or surveys to find out people's favourites. Or press releases about surveys about Christmas adverts.

My latest TikTok has got 524 likes in a day. If only any of my actual work-related content got that kind of engagement 🤣

Just submitted an article I've been researching for 6 months. So that's a relief.

I've been home since Saturday morning and have no external engagements in the diary for the foreseeable.

It's really weird. I'm putting stuff on my to-do list, then ticking it off shortly after. I'm doing household jobs that need attending too. It's almost like I'm a real grown-up.

The Boy and Bam Bam are engaged in a challenge to see who can stay on their bed the longest. It's been an hour now, so I just went to check everyone was OK. I feel like I should have played that game instead of working.

Thanks so much to the @ladiesofdarkness.bsky.social for being endlessly supportive of my work.
So pleased to hear that @morrighani.bsky.social has reviewed so many nominations from @britbeerwriters.bsky.social, including for her article about our #iwcbd2025 brew day and beers Shame Must Change Sides and Women of A Certain Age
If you see someone on a train platform doing a little happy dance right now, it's me discovering I have five.... FIVE!!!!?!! @britbeerwriters.bsky.social award nominations.

Well, the Charlton fans going to Wrexham on the train did not give a good impression. I'm surprised BTP didn't arrest the family I was stuck in the vestibule with as soon as they got off. An absolute embarrassment.

Delighted to be facing another delayed train this morning when I want to get home sharpish as I have fake Labubus for the baby - a gift from nana. She is going to be stoked 🤣😬
