I see some of you are still looking at other artist and comparing yourself to them. Really you need to stop looking at other artist, their numbers or whatever. Most of art success is about luck, getting your work seen. Don't be discouraged and start celebrating your successes, no matter how small.

I like how this loops back into Bluesky's current safety failures. There's no "this is new ground" for this. People know what does & doesn't work in social, & silence in the wake of failure is a co-sign of that decision, just via the childish cowardice of not claiming it for fear of direct response.

A lot of things suck in this lifetime, but I remember when the thought of this was incomprehensible. This is beautiful.
on that note, if @safety.bsky.app is thinking "but how will we achieve legitimacy if we ban "big names?" please note that even MEDIUM names *stop using social media* when you don't moderate harassment. letting assholes, however "big", do whatever they want, will lose you *hundreds* of bigger ones
stop acting like protecting marginalized people from harassment is going to cut into your bottom line, for fuck's sake

something that @safety.bsky.app needs to realize is that when it comes to social media, marginalized people are both targets, and a vast majority of your userbase, because ALL women are marginalized, and when you add in men of color, and queer men, and disabled men, etc.? it's not a contest

something that @safety.bsky.app needs to realize is that when it comes to social media, marginalized people are both targets, and a vast majority of your userbase, because ALL women are marginalized, and when you add in men of color, and queer men, and disabled men, etc.? it's not a contest
