And then ask for more money
I have to hand it to them, it's an incredible bit to publicly lose a game of chicken, admit that's what happened, and then spend the next day lecturing everyone about courage and tenacity

My marriage is safe for now

What a weird thing to have to say, but
BREAKING: The Supreme Court denied an attempt to challenge Obergefell v. Hodges, the case affirming marriage equality nationwide.

Our freedom to marry remains the law of the land.

The senate is an anti-democratic institution and it should be abolished. It only exists to make white people's votes count more than other people's.

“He knew his racist and sexist assertions would feature in [his obituaries]. Not even that could make him reconsider his beliefs, which only seemed to harden with criticism.” A recalcitrant bigot to the end.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
