This devastation is not the fault of the people of Appalachia making the poor life choice to live there. You want to believe that because it makes you feel safe but you are just as vulnerable to climate change and devastation.

I think a very funny thing will be when Twitter burns out and Elon makes a rash offer to buy Bluesky for $10 billion, and is legally forced to follow through; Jay creates Star, a microblog platform where we Twinkle at each other, and we all migrate there until Bluesky burns out, and Elon makes a ras

This seems like an action/inaction distinction (ie, a false distinction). Holding the sentencing before the election and delaying it until after the election both influence the election.

I know there are people who never stopped making a fuss about it, and good for them, but it is INSANE that the possible next president of the United States regularly defends himself against allegations of rape by saying “that is not the kind of woman I would rape”

When demons crawl up out of the burning bowels of Hell to publicly say "Whoa, this dude is TOO evil, so much so that I'm actually supporting The Good Guys over him," it's fucking significant.

Sometimes, in D&D, the DM is forced to make a difficult ruling. Does *this* feat interact with *that* one under *these* unusual circumstances to mean that if the PC hits his target, the target explodes?

The solution: roll the dice, and see if it matters. If you miss, I don't have to decide!

honestly I would be fine with this if it were actually reliably up to the voters
as always in a democracy, the good news is it's up to the voters, which is also the bad news

*whispering in his ear* Yes. Do it. Do it, Elon. Keep going. Fight the law. You're totally rich enough to win. Do it. It's our best idea since buying Twitter. Do it. Can't fail. Too rich to fail. Double down. Good. Good. Double down *again*. Do it. Yes. Good. Do it.
Yeah sure, that's how it works. Put me down for some cachaça too buddy

Ah yes, "a democracy only for" a certain small, empowered segment of the population which is then authorized, by virtue of certain physiological traits I consider to make them superior humans, to decide what the rules are for the rest.

Also known as... lots of things, but definitely Not Democracy.
While little of what Musk does these days surprises me, this post amid his daily deluge is something I've never seen before. He boosts a post arguing that women do not have the capacity for critical thought, and therefore cannot be the best leaders for a democracy.

Feels like a mask off moment.

Many believed that Roe vs. Wade (abortion rights) could not be overturned.
It was.
Following the same precedent, moves have started to overturn victories in LGBT rights.
Nothing we have gained can not be lost.
There is no cause for complacency.
