I have this tabletop RPG about play superheroes that lays out what being superhumanly intelligent means, and one of the earliest levels is "if you are dropped into a third world country, you will within a few months be solidly middle class via application of your intelligence"

trash decisions hellbent on preparing students for jobs in industries that will collapse before they graduate
Carnegie Mellon’s literature PhD is being liquidated in favor of “computation,” casualized labor, and AI.

That has profound ramifications for, students, faculty, and program alums like myself.

I wrote it about it (w/ Catherine Evans, a current PhD student).

I think the most resilient memory I have of this game is trying out the demo.

First thing I saw after spawning into a level were a bunch of wombs cast in marble on plinths.

Deeply strange in a way rarely seen.

(now that I type it out I wonder if this guy also made a certain Fallout 3 mod...)
I can still barely believe that PC Gamer let me write about Beyond Citadel as one of my first pieces this year.

Hell of a game and my recommendation needs to be accompanied by a flashing neon warning visible from orbit.
Beyond Citadel is a horny, ultra-violent retro FPS that I want to recommend to everybody and nobody
Smart, tactical shooting hidden under a veneer of unparalleled anime body-dismantling.

I’ve had the pleasure of playing SNEG’s re-release of The Temple of Elemental Evil! Come read all about it:

The only CRPG using D&D's original setting is finally on Steam, with fan patches and quality-of-life fixes pre-installed
There's never been a better time to enter The Temple of Elemental Evil.

This is what we give up 30% revshare for 🫠
Since I posted this yesterday:
- The writer of the "I hate muslims" review has doubled down, and added that they also hate transgender people
- Valve removed my flag from the review, with nothing done about it. The review remains up and on our Steam page

I say again: Is this what Steam is now?
