I do math and play Pokemon, and apparently make art sometimes. He/him.
Headed home from DC after a wonderfully creative weekend writing math contest problems. Can't wait for students to see these in the spring!

Please check your Halloween candy carefully this year! Corporations are hiding useless AI features inside of the bars in an attempt to trick you to use them.

q: why did the outfielders raise their arms during this play?

a: according to the ancient scrolls in which the rules of baseball were found, if a ball lands and doesn't bounce that ball is declared god. the players were worshipping god. i doubt there will be a game 7 or any further baseball seasons
Absolutely hate the World Series wedgie here

I love teaching right after a linguistics class.

(That's not sarcastic. I think they're using the same textbook as my first linguistics course way back when, so it all looks very familiar in a good way.)

My name is Ozymoanas. You will board my boat, sail across the ocean, look on my works, and despair.
My name is Ozymandias, King Of Kings. You looked on my works. Prepare to die.

Me, coming in to work this morning: "I'd do anything to not have to grade today."

Me, discovering Canvas is down: "Wow, this is bullshit, now I can't grade today like I planned!"

I don't have the playmat to show off (store didn't receive them yet), but I got my first League Cup win of the season, and fourth ever! Played my same Ceruledge list from Milwaukee, which is the same as the one @skylon.bsky.social published on Metafy except I added a Jamming Tower. #PokemonTCG

My favorite part (from the full video) might be the brief moment when both announcers agree that two players have been put out, but can't agree on *which* two.
what in the hell just happened in Milwaukee

from now on I'm just going to truncate the taylor series for sin at the first term. sin(x) = 0 for all x. this approximation

- is efficient to compute
- has bounded error
- has excellent analytic properties
- has very high accuracy for small values, which occur frequently in applications

I'm a little behind on October drawing, so I combined two prompts from different lists, and ended up with something about to go terribly wrong at @offcolorbrewing.bsky.social.
