What do you all think?
Friends of Tower Grove Park think our park is not a park but 1 big events space. They already have 2 event spaces. Piper Palm and Stupp. Now they want a sheetmetal Event Support building & a cheap catering kitchen w/ croquet garden & more? Stop the continuous desecration of greenspace.

You find out how much a business/property owner/govt/community cares about people outside of cars when it snows.
"Sidewalks are not a distraction from the city’s mission. They are the ground-level test of whether Minneapolis truly works for everyone...Walking is not optional. It is how people reach buses and trains, cross neighborhoods, access businesses and age in place."

Opinion | Shoveling sidewalks should be a priority for Minneapolis
If the city wants people to use public transit and age in place, they have to be able to safely get around after it snows, William Hendricks writes.

Gas stations are crime vectors. They need to be treated as the public safety camcer they are by city statues. Especially zoning.

Autonomous vehicles that are unable to adapt to emergencies present a risk to our public safety. With such vehicles being considered for deployment in the East Bay, more must first be done to ensure they will operate safely when the unexpected happens.

People want tiny basic electric cars. Automakers haven't responded, and safety regulations make it difficult, so they're buying golf carts.
Golf carts are puttering their way toward becoming a legit transport mode.

This year, Cleveland, Corpus Christi, and South Carolina officially legalized them on local streets. Major media outlets like the Wall Street Journal and CBS News have covered their soaring popularity (esp in suburbs).
Why one Michigan town is regulating its golf cart boom
St. Johns, Michigan, is one of more than two dozen communities in the state to pass ordinances regulating golf carts on public roads.

Gas stations and drive thrus should be nowhere near homes, schools, daycares, hospitals, parks. Let's ensure our zoning code treats them as the public health and safety threat that they are.

St. Louis is getting an early start on snow accumulation, and I’m still holding a grudge towards businesses who utterly neglected their obligation to clear their sidewalks last year. If you’d feel inspired to badger some big box stores about their sidewalks, feel free to adapt! #STL #stlouis #stlwx

Officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation admitted their crews didn’t pre-treat roads before a quick burst of snowfall blanketed the St. Louis region and led to numerous crashes and traffic gridlock Monday afternoon.
