Wrapping up a Brood Brothers painting commission that I've really enjoyed. Oil washes did a lot of heavy lifting on the skin and shading, and the grey on grey box colors turned out nicer than expected. A rare return to 40k for me. (1/?)

If only everyone could be this self reflective, as well as open and honest about being wrong.
Good on Penn Jillette. Having to come to terms with your entire political identity and philosophy being wrong is not easy and most people could never do it.

"Can you seriously not understand the concept of someone not being a misogynist but saying something misogynistic just to piss off someone they specifically know will be annoyed by it?"

That kind of logic is rotting the brain of so many hateful losers online.

Never seen it laid so bare before.

Spain is coming through. Bravo.
Following Eurovision’s decision to allow Israel’s participation, Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has withdrawn from the contest. The announcement split the screen between Israel’s performance and scenes of bombardment and starving children in Gaza. #Spain #eurovision #genocide

Israel hunted a 70 year old lady down with a gun drone and then hoovered above to make sure she bled out next to her dying son. They both join almost 1,000 Palestinians Israel has massacred or maimed in its genocide during the "ceasefire".

an example of starting to believe your own bullshit. does anyone think being a drug smuggler is a "fight"? It's a business. they're so deep into this "narco-terrorist" language they're thinking these are some kind of hardened cocaine ideologues. theyre all eager to join Mar a Lago.
Q: What did you see in the second strike?

Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

i am going completely insane watching gamers make up shit about horses and interrogating every single thing the devs have said for inconsistencies and then deciding well it probably had cp in it. this is the easy mode version of the kinds of censorship that are to come and you're failing like babies

Religion note: Remember that pastor who was arrested protesting an ICE detention facility outside Chicago recently? The one who was photographed on the ground as officers arrested him?

That's Rev. Michael Woolf, and this is his church.

Just...a rough day. But want to note, for the people who are adamant that any critique of the Dems makes it harder to defeat fascism, if you can't call out the fascism supporting actions in your own party, then how can anyone trust you to fight the fascists in power?

Graham Linehan is clearly a deeply unwell man who has given himself psychosis obsessing over trans folks, but the British media and political classes have no choice but to encourage and protect him because of what it says about them, as they fundamentally believe the same things about us as he does.

I've been saying for over a decade that @megueyb.bsky.social and @lumpley.bsky.social's work with Apocalypse World is arguably in the top four most influential works influencing what tabletop roleplaying games look like today. May this be the first of MANY honors given to AW in the mainstream!
When the ALA recognizes one's work, that's pretty dang cool.

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

this point really hits the nail on the head of why localization workers are so frustrated by “AI” loc companies.
freelancers have to beg for a single dollar wage increase, while tens of millions are dumped into a machine designed to replace them.
the machine doesn’t even work. freelancers do.
one of the things that makes me most mad about genAI (and there are many) is we've been told there's not enough money for hiring. but there's billions poured into ai.

so not enough money to hire workers. but infinite money to pour into technology whose goal is never having to pay workers again.
