Arguably this is the most Kennedy School thing he can do – retreat by doubling down and focusing his efforts where he can do the most direct, palpable harm to other people.

If I were a PR consultant for ICE one piece of advice I would give them is not take anyone who is “Anne Frank-coded.” WWII refugees, young girls, diarists, things of that nature.

I still laugh about the timing of Andrew Cuomo’s Covid memoir.
Much like gun waiting periods, we have to implement memoir waiting periods. You shouldn't be able to publish that book about that thing that happened for at least 5 years.

when I hear Starmer speak about immigration and race he's spitting in the face of the Labour voters I knew growing up in Manchester, who put themselves on the line against the National Front - and often the police - in the 1970s and 1980s.
Ultimately the vision of britain that starmer has is profoundly cynical, nasty and just not true. He thinks that abidicating his responsibility in showing that another option is maturity and doing the difficult thing, but he's literally just creating the hateful country he is so afraid of

I would say that the UK has become ungovernable but, in truth, few have tried.
maybe if he takes more consultant advice to move to the right on immigration he can turn those numbers around

Not the big point, but Axios’s house style of bullet pointed lists of ideas is supposed to make it easy to read but I think it actually makes it more difficult. Like transition words and things exist for a reason. Like how are these ideas connected?! Do not like.
