I once briefly ran a campaign for a 24-year old running for state rep. Her Republican opponent had been unopposed for so long, that simply showing up as a candidate for 2 weeks led him to stop running and the seat flipped that November. She only ran bc no one else in the town wanted to do it!
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

I would LOVE for him to present hip hop as a uniquely American music genre the way he did for country music (and in the same way, interview the founders of the genre before we lose them all)
I figure Ken Burns has one, maybe two big documentary series in him before he fully retires. What do you think they should be? My votes include Football, Hip-Hop, World War 1, Reconstruction (though Skip Gates did this one well), Iraq/Afghanistan, 19th Century Expansionism.

The only "drunk tattoo" situation I've ever been in is my ex getting a "be gay do crime" stick and poke at 4am, and we spelled it wrong so it says "be gay do crme" and even that felt like a stupid idea the very next day (not years later!)
as a recovering alcoholic I find it offensive that people are saying "well he got the nazi skull while he was drunk" okay and? I got blackout drunk and did stupid shit tons of times and I never woke up with a nazi tattoo
