Trump is purposefully driving up consumers’ electricity costs by suppressing clean energy on the grid, forcing grid operators to go to more-expensive fossil fuel units.

Money goes straight from ratepayers’ pockets to his big fossil fuel donors.

Another Trump scam.

It's that time of year when Americans set up quaint, walkable Christmas villages in their living rooms, dreaming of living in such a cozy place.

Meanwhile, they'll show up to city council meetings to fiercely oppose any plan that would actually build that kind of car-lite community in real life.

You know what is mind boggling? It’s the fact that kids need to be 21 to have their first sip of alcohol, but at 15 they are getting their driver learner permit.

If they’re not mature enough to decide on their own drinking, maybe they’re not mature enough to operate huge machinery going at 75 mph.

Sharing this again just because I love it so much. #justaminute

Car drivers who block cycle lanes for “just a minute” force people on bikes into car traffic. It’s dangerous, it’s selfish, it’s illegal (NZ) and it deserves the mocking it gets in this protest action.

I too experienced an "event" many years ago which turned out to be, what my doctor described as a mini heart attack, due to undiagnosed super high blood pressure enlarging part of my heart. Scary is an understatement.

If your city plows the roads but leaves sidewalks up to property owners, your city hates pedestrians.

In 2026 employers will be able to provide up to $340 a month in tax-free (to employee) parking benefits, transit, or vanpool, but nothing for people who walk or ride a bike to work.

Maybe we should throw this benefit out the window and encourage taxable general cash benefits for transportation.

The answer is: shop local, give everyone living wages, buy less stuff, especially clothes, support thrifting, a circular economy, *and* buy quality goods made ethically (that will last). Overall cost is the same (or less) and it's better for people & planet.

Consumerism is the problem.
It's hard to help Americans left behind because so much of US identity is rooted in individualism. The average American conservative holds all three positions at once:

— Virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— Against raising the minimum wage
— Buys foreign imports because they're cheap
