"tapering plans" for HRT is a death sentence if you've had gender-affirming surgeries, like I have with my orchi, because your body will just wither away and die without hormones. Unspeakable evil. Demonic shit. You don't hate these motherfuckers enough.
BREAKING: Trump admin issues new policy aimed at ending transgender-related care in federal prisons.

"It's a really dangerous policy,” an ACLU lawyer representing trans people in federal prison suing the Trump administration tells Law Dork of the new Bureau of Prisons policy.

YES! 🌞These things will last forever, esp the new ones.

Goodbye to the idea that solar panels “die” after 25 years. A new study says the warranty does not mark the end, and real-world performance can last for decades
Solar panels are usually sold with 25 to 30 years of performance promises. But what happens after that, when the warranty language is long gone and you are

Me, plotting a new six-volume short fiction series.
Because why not.
(these will be my stories, some unpublished, some reprints, mostly fiction but some essays)

It's a good snapshot of like my entire author career, as told through my short fiction.

I approve of this message.

(and not because I need UBI to create — I have been lucky to be a full-time author for 14+ yrs, I have written *so many* novels already, and I'm sharply aware of that luck and how much we need all the new stories that people would unleash upon the world, given the chance)
UBI would turn our society into a cultural powerhouse. i can't even begin to describe how creatively freeing it would be. i would make *so many* games. i would write *so many* novels.
Most artists, even big names you all would recognize and know, are not rich.

The few who are, are freakish anomalies.

Once, technology solved problems. People liked having problems solved, so they liked technology.

Tech execs started to think of that sentiment as their due. So when they stopped solving problems, and people stopped liking them, they became outraged. "How dare you not love whatever we give you?"
I am a luddite and to me there is a lot of joy in technology. In technology that we deploy for all our wellbeing. Solar panels and vaccines, high-speed rail and wikipedia.

But they joy stems from the feeling of being able to be part of humanity in an embedded, meaningful way. Not from buying shit.

I've been giving a lot of thought to human infrastructure and how it underlies everything.

Like how all corporations are autocracies only barely constrained by the law and most of those were hard earned and currently being dismantled.

I'm feeling a lot like this tree today.

Barren and broken. Stark. Complicated and interconnected.

But also old and carrying the scars of experience. There are stories in me, seasons & lifetimes holding up others as they build nests and lives.

Nature isn't a metaphor.
Nature is us, and we are it.

In the concentration camp universe, this is what's known as a filtration camp. A government preemptively takes a whole class of people to interrogate and detain extrajudicially in order to inflict duress on them while arbitrarily assessing their (supposed) culpability.
This is a truly horrifying memo. It says that the policy of the US government will now be to proactively seek out and arrest likely tens of thousands of refugees who entered legally under Biden and subject them to detention, where they will be interrogated about their status.

The more of these fascist atrocities I see, the more I become an immigration maximalist. Let everyone in, give everyone work permits/green cards. Make it possible to get citizenship within a few months. Make it as easy as getting a driver's license.
