an untapped resource in america is rampant wealth - that shit is growing everywhere like dandelions and we refuse to harvest it...

our new capitalist endeavor should be in mining the wealth hoarded in elitist revenue streams.

This is something that happens SO often to disabled folk. And then if you become more disabled as a result of being denied proper treatment, those in power discount your expert POV *more* because you must be biased by actually having lived experience to pair with research.
A small rant: I clocked about 3 years ago that my youngest child had *something*, likely an autoimmune something, happening in their body, and the reaction from essentially everyone was to assume I was overreacting because of my disabilities, not that I had EXPERTISE because if my disabilities.

in addition to making the swiftest actions possible now, one way i think all of us in climate can and should view our work is to think about the tools this generation will need to manage the failures if we keep failing. to me that means more democratic control over everything, not less.

Dynamic pricing should exist in in one area only and it’s taxes. Dynamically price Bezos out of several million dollars so we can have healthcare you cowards
Here’s a hot take: dynamic pricing should not be legal. It’s swindling. Plain and simple.

Regular reminder that the most dangerous thing most people do every day is get in a car, and it's something that is rarely talked about by the average person, let alone our politicians. This is an escalating problem, we can all see it, and there is very little political will to address it.
It’s important to contextualize just how much less safe American drivers are than everywhere else in the world, and it’s getting worse!

I am 100% opposed to these laws because in all cases they are used to pressure disabled people to die. Because that's cheaper than providing the supports they need to live. It happens in Canada with MAID, it happens in Oregon, it will happen in Illinois.

incidentally, nobody can do @bbolander.bsky.social but bo, and I’ve always admired that
I think it would be fun if writers who love language started intentionally writing more strangely as AI flattens written "content" into a mono-voice. it would cool I think if writers responded by focusing their individual efforts on cultivating a really unique voice that's hard to copy

This is the ultimate purpose of disinformation (to make us feel it is impossible to discern truth) and genAI does it just by existing
one insidious thing about gen AI is it's not just causing us to mistrust dodgy images, it's also making us mistrust images that look perfectly normal. this is gaslighting in a very literal sense bc the technology is undermining the trust we have in our own ability to perceive reality!
