Thanks to Heated Rivalry, people are asking why so many women are writing and reading m/m romance.
Not only is that a boring question, it's backwards.
Why shouldn't women (and women-adjacent people) be doing this? Also: why aren't men reading and writing more genres that center love and HEAs?

basically whenever I try to help an instacart shopper in a romance language I am speaking something which I would describe as “Espantugançais” or “very drunk Latin.”
as I am not bilingual, I only have that issue when trying to speak French, Spanish, or Portuguese, which violently interpolate themselves throughout my brain.

I would feel more embarrassed about this if I hadn’t had a customer approach me last week, open box of merchandise in hand, and say, “I tried one of these protein bars and I don’t like it. What should I do?”
