Another classic post-Homan day where around school dismissal time we get a flurry of ICE vehicles all across our neighborhoods. Today one vehicle led an observer to their own home and pointed at it. This is a sick game to them, but we won’t be intimidated and we won’t stop until DHS is abolished.

More than half of the world’s new electric cars are now plugging into Chinese sockets instead of lining up at gas stations. By 2024, it is estimated that China’s EV sales were growing about 40% year on year, even as some Western markets stumbled.

China sold 11 million electric vehicles in one year, leaving less room for the oil it used to buy from Venezuela
But there is a basic question lurking behind the headlines. Who will actually need that oil in the years ahead? For years, China has been one of Venezuela’s

Elon Musk has completely failed to deliver on his Mars promises, his DOGE promises, and his full self-driving promises. So now he's making another promise he won't deliver on: "a self-growing city on the moon."

too bad all of that is a complete fucking wash compared to what he "accomplished" with DOGE

Eric Berger, hopelessly infatuated with Musk, fails to mention how dreadfully behind SpaceX is with its *moon-related* (never mind Mars) obligations to NASA. Nor does he hint at how dauntingly improbable the SpaceX plan for orbital propellant transfer is. He just can't stop shilling for Elon.

In 2016 Elon said SpaceX would go to Mars by 2026. And here we are.

SpaceX doesn’t even have departments working on “living on Mars” problems. They’re not even out of the blowing up rockets and pretending phase yet.

When they solve removing an appendix on Mars, I’ll take them more seriously.

This is the thing to me, that you can tell that this shit is fake. No one has built a self-sustaining bio-dome that's lasted for more than a year without everyone going insane, and SpaceX isn't even *trying* to do this.
even if i had absolutely no knowledge of elon musk or his history, i would have a lot of questions about someone who claimed they were going to build settlements on the moon within a decade, like, “what experience do you have in doing this on earth?”

You can't say "SpaceX dropped its Mars plans" because SpaceX never had "plans" for Mars. They had a sales pitch.

There was never any indication that anyone inside SpaceX seriously worked on a Mars mission other than on power point slides.

And no, Starship as such does not count.
