Block ruthlessly. Block on vibes. Don't get into pointless arguments with randos in the comments. When a profile's entire personality is pro or anti current gov, I block immediately. Every one of us is being played. Only way to win is not to play.

Whenever people diss the romance genre or act as if it is by definition second-rate, I think about how genuinely difficult it is to write a truly effective (and non wince-inducing) consensual sex scene (whether cute, fun, passionate, tragic, comedic, horny, moving, etc). Especially an explicit one.

Re: CO weather

As someone who lived in the middle of where the Marshall fire struck, I find it scary that we're so hot and dry right now. But since I'm currently driving an hour each way daily on twisty mountain roads to help out with sick family, I am v. grateful for no snow/ice.

Inspired by his example, I started my own doc as I've been learning Unreal Engine and it's made a huge difference!

Yes, docs exist. So do tutorials, forums, discords, etc.

But having my own doc reminds me both where the info I need is, and anything additional I found out while trying it.

This guy was an easy block for me.

I'm sure some lawyers just want a piece of the pie, but also note that the Anthropic settlement falls apart for everyone if enough eligible authors opt out, so be careful what you're doing and why on this one folks.
So there’s a lawyer going around BlueSky right now responding to everyone talking about the Anthropic book settlement by (1) urging people to opt out and (2) saying that they are representing authors who are opting out.

The cold snap made the headlines, but the warmth in the nation’s middle now will fly by the radar.
70 heat records in jeopardy today (record highs and record warm lows) with temps 20-30 degrees above normal.
A pleasant break before the winter chill sets in.

New aurora hunters who are going out tonight: I do not claim to be an expert but I do get *lots* of practice
My cheat sheet (with résumé):
* Lens with the widest aperture you own, aperture all the way open
* EV -5/3
* Exposure 4 seconds
* ISO to match
* Focus almost infinity (make the stars sharp)

The hardest part about seeing auroras is it's really difficult to predict. You can get an idea of likelihood of visibility, but it doesn't mean you're guaranteed to see them or not see them.

And of course always remember, there will be more chances. We're in a high activity cycle right now. :)

1) The show continues overnight

2) There’s a chance that tomorrow night’s northern lights show is even better than tonight’s (more below).

NGL folks. Moving even just one of these originals would really make a difference for my husband & I with our continually piling up medical bills.🥲 Plz help spread the word, if you can. Even just re-sharing is powerful for small artists like me.🙏
If you've ever wanted to collect one of my originals, here's a great opportunity! I'm offering these pieces currently via the @changelingart.bsky.social's Deck the Halls auction with extremely fair starting bids.

I am all for people making the best life choices for them. But why do they make such bad ones? (Going home to a remote location one week after a stroke that caused left-side paralysis without adequate rehab and only one on-site, untrained caretaker.)
