Midnight. A clearing in a forest. A pool. All is quiet, not a person in sight. And yet... reflected in the water, a girl’s face trembles.

We have been long standing enthusiasts for the science fiction novels of Adam Roberts (and would trust that all right-thinking fans of the genre would share this belief) however we also believe he should be sent to prison for his jokes.

I'd heard a lot of mixed things about Predator: Badlands when it was in cinemas. Enough fanboy butthurt to make me think it was probably worth seeing but also quite a lot of 'meh' from people who really liked Prey, the previous movie in this series by the same director, Dan Trachtenberg. There were positive voices but no one loved it like they loved Prey.

25% off when you pre-order Kuzhali Manickavel's new novel from Waterstones.

And is there a better title around at the moment than: A Compendium of Supernatural Entities Found in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School?

The first draft's job is to get it down. Everything else is secondary.
This first draft has so many dangling threads I could hand stitch a new Bayeux Tapestry with them.

Pre-order @rjbarker.bsky.social's evil twin's new book at Waterstones and get 25% off?

Sounds horribly irresponsible if you ask us.
Good news and bad news, friends. BAD NEWS first. My evil twin's book is up for a 25% off pre-order promotion at WATERSTONES! But why would you order this funny, violent, working class detective story with two really engaging leads, using the code FEB26?

WHY DO THAT TO YOURSELF?

"I have read the skies, I have read the river. I have read the birdsong, and the fall of leaves. I have read the factories and the shadow of the walking man. I have read the soldiers who died here, in several wars, separated by centuries. I have read the blood, and the ploughing of the fields."

"average person wuthers 3 heights a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person wuthers 0 heights per year. Heights Georg, who lives in cave & wuthers over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
