My Old World Order setting has quite a few halflings ("anthros"), that are half human, and half some animal. Catfolk, wolf people, spider-people, and more are about 10% of the population. Depending on the culture it can be a bit taboo, but generally it's not that uncommon.
World Building Wednesday: Does your setting have have other humanoid creatures (mermaids, minotaurs, werewolves, etc), would your OC sleep with them, and how common is that mindset? Are they an outlier or the norm in their society?

I’m looking for an artist who can draw people and animals!! Specifically mastiffs. I’m looking for less realistic, more stylized, and a moody/dark atmosphere. If commissions are currently closed, that’s okay! Due date is June 2026 (ish), but I wanted to ask early in case there are some waitlists :))

Seeing as a pressure vessel designed to deal with steam can look like this when it fails, bringing up Cthulhu seems appropriate.

The book literally opens with Rico tac-nuking a *church* on a *neutral* planet. Because the humans want to impress on the natives that if if they're not with Earth, they're against us.

I am not kidding.
Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino "also revered Starship Troopers, Robert Heinlein's 1959 military sci-fi classic about an interstellar war between humans and alien bugs - a book his sister says he still reads to this day."
An endless amount of deranged details in this interview with Greg Bovino's sister, but most notably that his uncle produced the Jack Nicholson movie The Border and the depiction of the agent as corrupt radicalized him as a 12-yr-old.

"Since then, he was like, 'Dude, I want to do Border Patrol.'"

The Danish horror novel Kat ("Cat") features a ferocious and merciless killer stalking the rain-soaked streets of Copenhagen... a black cat.

A demonic entity had found the perfect vessel, the finest killing machine in this world, but had *badly* misjudged the size of its host.

In the words of one Buffy Summers, it's not that vampires don't photograph, it's that they don't photograph well. Vampires don't cast reflections... in silver. It used to be that decent mirrors were silver. That's also why they couldn't be photographed. But they do show up on electronic recordings.

Danish PM Mette Frederiksen’s Social Democrats suffered heavy losses in yesterday's nationwide local elections, losing key cities including Copenhagen for the first time since 1903.

For the first time in 122 years the Social Democrats will not govern Copenhagen, which will now have a left-wing mayor.

She did her job, and bless her for doing her job.

It was the first real question I’ve heard in a long time.

Every other journalist in the room should have followed up on that question… because that was the question on everyone’s mind… and it’s about time they all did their jobs.
