Oh shit it's Sunday. I'm reading Sister Wake by Dave Rudden, which has just released this week! Epic fantasy inspired by Ireland history and culture, and its fight against colonization. Gods and stories take shape in terrifyingly souls-like encounters

Happy Sunday! I'm still persevering/wading through how high we go in the dark, which has been a bit fractured in its storytelling, and relentlessly bleak for my liking. Looking forward to the next read.

Hi, Womble! Lots of distractions this past week, so I'm still just finishing up Cat Rambo's Rumor Has It, and getting into Jim Crow in the Asylum, by Kylie Smith, who I got to meet at her signing event at Charis Books Friday night. Next up: a pile of books bought in 2025 I haven't read yet. 🙃

Good afternoon, Womble! I’m doing okay. I’m reading The Everlasting by Alix Harrow on my ereader and a physical copy Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Her Daughter Mary Shelley by Charlotte Gordon. Both books are from my public library. I’m enjoying them both!

Tides of Fire by James Rollins. Some sci-fi, some action, some espionage. Fast paced distraction to just get lost in - Sigma Force novels usually deliver.

Good day, sir!
Finished Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse this week; it was very good. Finished Blood on Her Tongue by Johanna van Heen about midnight and I'm still mulling it over.
Not sure what's next, I have a stack of library books. Maybe We Came to Welcome You by Vincent Tirado.

Good afternoon Womble! Very well thank you! I am about to finish An Emperor's Gamble, which is book 3 in The Legend of Tal by JDL Rosell and it's fantastic! Building to an exciting ending and it's a highly recommended series 😁

When reading fiction by Arundhati Roy, I always felt I was missing out on some nuances. So, happy to report that her autobiography, 'Mother Mary Comes to Me' is not just excellent in its own right, but adds a lot of background context to her other books.

I seem to get most of my recommendations here… Was very hesitant to give The Incandescent (Tash) a try fearing it was yet another Hogwarts spinoff but it was sooo much better then that. She actually reflects on the art of teaching. Now just started Chain Gang All-Stars

My current reads are all for #SPFBO

Physical Magic is progression fantasy with a disabled MC in LGBT normative world

Liches is a cultivation fantasy from a cat POV

Artificer's is a gaslamp fantasy with a main MC who slowly gets drawn into a gang

I'm enjoying all 3 so far!

Good Morning Blue Sky! Hope you’re all ok? Today I’m currently reading Unnatural Death by Patricia Cornwell for an unusual mix of murder and cryptozoology! What are you reading at the moment?

tom cox's 21st-century yokel on audio, a fine example of the wry naturalist memoir interwoven with the personal genre (that mirrors my own thinking unnervingly closely), in the early stages of samrat upadhyay's darkmotherland on dead tree, still learning the shape of its sharply prosey rhythms
