I wonder if people in this country know that the VAST MAJORITY of people in the US did not contribute to the Black freedom movement. I'm always taken aback by how people talk online. Folks, your grandparents & great-grandparents DID NOTHING or they were in OPPOSITION, lol.

One of the worst things that we've done as a society is push the idea that all viewpoints are valid and up for debate. This is legit why so many people think those bullshit jubilee debates are a form of education and not just a way to socially manipulate people into being open to fascism.

The descendants of immigrants who conveniently “forget” how their immigrant forbears “got over” are disgraceful.
And for the record, Mr. Martini, the Italian immigrant who Mr. Potter disgustingly disparaged as a “garlic eater,” and who received a chance for a decent home from the Bailey Business& Loan, is essentially the stand-in for the forbears of ppl like ICE enforcer Greg Bovino (Italian-American).

If ICE can threaten arrest for filming, then journalists, watchdogs, and protesters can all be silenced the same way. You don’t have freedom of the press if recording police is treated as terrorism.  #holdfast

Interleaving is when you combine or mix together multiple tasks or learning objectives into one session— like reading two chapters of one book, then two chapters of a second book, then returning to the first book.

Participants were able to better retain new words and manage interference.

Wow. Genuinely shocked, and a hugely consequential decision.

Importantly, this is a case where @martylederman.bsky.social's amicus brief appears to have made a MAJOR impact. Before he wrote it, courts were sidestepping the "regular forces" issue entirely. And that's what the Trump admin lost on.
NEW: By a 6-3 vote, the Supreme Court blocks Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Chicago to assist immigration agents. A majority holds that he likely lacks authority to do so. Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissent. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

Yes, CECOT is a concentration camp in the guise of a prison. The Venezuelans were the first people to *ever* be released from CECOT since Bukele opened the prison in January 2023. Seriously. The first.
These are concentration camps. No other way to describe them. Truly horrific, and none of it surprising in the least.
30 minutes. Some deportees described sexual assault. Detainee describes the guard sexually assaulting most detainees. Lights left on all day. Prisoners not given clean water.

Now the DHS tour. Nobody spoke to the detainees. Noem's video was in a different area of the prison.
