We pay for the government. Every time they're evil or callous, that's your money going to fuck with people.
I don't want them to be careful or slow or cowardly, I want them to sell tickets to the trials.

Called my house rep to raise hell about bending the knee / the shutdown and got a recording blaming lack of staff due to the shutdown.

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.
Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.

Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

My first job in L.A. was interning at Scott Rudin prods when they were working on No Country and There Will Be Blood at the same time. Two all time favorites.
NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN was released 18 years ago today. One of the most successful movies of the Coen brothers, and acclaimed as one of the great book-to-screen adaptations of the 21st century, missing the story of how it came to be is like losing a Chigurh coin toss…

Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because. apnews.com/article/louv...

I’ve noticed the same thing about all the most prolific MAGA posters. Everything is a culture war. Anger and fear rule the day.
They don’t post photos of their pets or discuss their favorite sports teams or music or TV shows.
Normal things Americans enjoy are too woke or gay or whatever

I have it on excellent authority that Lower Decks was, in fact, made for people who hadn’t seen any other Star Trek shows.
i can’t believe people were trying to dissuade me from starting trek with lower decks because i “wouldn’t understand the references” as if it isn’t super accessible on its own with incredible joke density that all land perfectly on the merit of excellent characterization and absurd plot lmfao
