The Democrats are transparently in thrall to the right-wing billionaire donor class who pay their bills thanks to Citizens United.
It's nuts that Democrats are still acting so cowed about immigration when public opinion on it seems quite malleable and there's blowback now to right wing anti-immigrant politics in practice. You can win on this issue, you barely even have to try

For the first time, the Kennedy Center Awards were presented in the tiny Oval Office instead of the Kennedy Center For Performing Arts. Donald used his now-vulgar Oval Office for the ceremony to avoid the embarrassment of TV audiences seeing an almost empty theater.

So much of modern society can be explained by the fact that some people simply want to be unkind, and they want to be unkind so badly that they will invent rationales, and indeed whole worldviews, to justify their meanness and selfishness

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

DS9 literally cast Louise Fletcher, actor to portray the most evil villain in film history, to play one of its two primary villains and she wasn't even the most evil villain in the show!
"TNG and DS9 didn't have Villains" is certainly a Take™️

If Kevin Costner is presenting the first Christmas. It better be three and a half hours long with a ton of loooong static shots of the landscape, that's all I'm saying
Folks you may have been baffled by the “Kevin Costner presents the first Christmas” ad you just saw on ABC

And I am here to make it worse by sharing with you the official poster for this blessed event

Carney is a bad person who is doing objectively terrible things to Canada for no reason other than a commitment to thoroughly debunked financial theories and I really don't understand why so many people refuse to acknowledge that.

So we just got done watching the original Star Wars trilogy with the 7-y.o. tonight, and it occurred to me that C3PO and to an extent R2D2 are basically the LLM-enabled robots we're all hating on these days.

As an idea idea we loved them, but as a possible future we hate them.
