My dad got hit by a car last year (he's fine, gardaí couldn't do anything, no footage) and he cycles with lights, high vis, reflectors, bright colours. You'd see him a mile off. It didn't matter against a dickhead in two tonnes of metal.
I'm all for road safety but you could have every cyclist in the land wearing a full suit of Christmas lights and drivers fucking around on their phones will still knock them down

A person rolled their car into my teenage son a fortnight ago. It was broad daylight and the driver was looking down while their car was rolling forward. I know, because I was yelling, trying to get their attention. Drivers who don't see us are often not looking.
My son hasn't cycled since
👀 Can you see me now?

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

ANOTHER fully suspended sentence courtesy of JUDGE MARTIN NOLAN who "couldn't find any aggravating factors". Is swerving without explanation & killing a person with their car not THE aggravating factor? Was the swerving ever explained? Were they on their phone? www.rte.ie/news/2025/11...
Woman given suspended sentence over cyclist's death
A woman whose husband was killed whilst out for a Sunday cycle on the Malahide Road in Dublin last year, has said no words can ever change how brutal it has been since she lost him.

Got a press release in from an independent who says they are standing in the Dublin Central by-election. Among their "achievements" is their involvement in Repeal The 9th Amendment. Now, unless I missed something, I'm pretty sure non-Irish citizens still have the right to vote..

A Swedish region checked 500 digital healthcare consultations from private operators - the level of care rendered in 60% of them didn't meet the threshold for payment from the state, but were invoiced anyway.
But sure, the "market" is the most efficient way to run things ...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"När Region Sörmland nyligen granskade drygt 500 vårdbesök hos nätläkarföretagen Kry och Doktor.se visade det sig att 60 % av dessa saknade grund för ersättning. Det rör sig om rådgivning på samma nivå som 1177 och rena hänvisningar till fysisk vård, som i stället fakturerats som vårdbesök."

He got it out his car and started assaulting me. Fortunately I'm retired judo player so threw him to the ground and...

Still wild to me that Trump pointed in a woman’s face and said “Quiet, Piggy!” and literally no one who witnessed it was like “Whoa, there bro” either because they didn’t care or they weren’t surprised, or both.

Many people don't realise how climate change is already - not in the future - affecting our lives. And it's doing so in ways that, once our eyes are opened, we can notice!

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

The absolute state of these people.

Absolutely no greenway ever has or ever will "go through their houses". It's complete misinformation and should be challenged by the reporters.

Greenways are also not just "leisure projects", as it says here. They are also vital pieces of infrastructure.
